Review: Nars Silk Road Eyeshadow Duo

Nars eyeshadow duos are talked about quite often in the blogging world, so Nars must be doing something right, right? Well when it comes to Silk Road, I'm not to sure. These eyeshadows are ones I often use, but that doesn't mean I love them.
The product is mediocre, the lightest shade (right), an icy champagne peach is quite sheer and the darker shade (left) is a rose gold shade with chunky gold glitter that loves to fall onto the rest of your face. While the peach shade is sheer, and doesn't have much pigmentation, when applied to the lid it does create a 'glow.' The glow doesn't look like you have eyeshadow on, but you can tell that your eyelids/inner corner are brightened and more enhanced. The icy peach shade I don't have a problem with, it wasn't what I expected when I purchased it, but I like the effect it creates. My biggest problem with the duo is the rose gold shade. I really don't think it's necessary for the chunky glitter to be in the pigments. I never get any glitter onto my actual lid, it all lands on my cheeks, and if I does stay on my lid it falls onto my face throughout the day.
The colours in Silk Road are really beautiful minus their texture flaws. I love that you can wear either shade alone, or together. Luckily together they make the prettiest rose gold eye look. The rose gold shade brings a nice warmth to the eye applied above the crease.
Overall, I don't think that Silk road is worth the $39 price tag. I don't regret the purchase since I use it quite often and I really love it, but the few texture flaws bother me every time I apply it.
